How effective is The Shine Project?

We understand that as a school, charity, or youth work organisation your time with these young people is precious and short. We aim to partner with you in helping young people receive a truly holistic education.

We measure the outcomes of our courses using the Warwick Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scale (WEMWBS).  We also collect written, and verbal feedback from students, teachers, youth workers, parents and carers and regularly run case studies. We ask our course attendees to complete the WEMWBS 3 times during the course.  This data is collated into an overall report which is shared with the school or organisation.  This report shows how the overall groups wellbeing has changed because of our intervention as well as giving more detailed information about each participant.  Recommendations are provided in this report by The Shine Project as to what further follow up may be required.

Working with Schools and Charities across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole

The Shine Project is proud to be working with 23 different schools and charities in the local area of Bournemouth Poole and Christchurch and we continue to look to reach out to new schools so that we can meet with as many young women as possible.

Get in touch to partner with us. All we need is a room and 12 students once a week for an hour.

Courses we provide

Young people grew in confidence over the 8 weeks, sharing experiences in a safe and supportive environment they gained insight and companionship through Shine. The course was well structured and interactive so that quite serious issues were discussed with alight touch and there was always time for activities and more chat if needed
